Phil Upton is co-founder and Managing Director of Purple Creative Services which was formed in 2009.

With a working career spanning 30+ years, Phil’s career path has generally focussed on technology based areas included electronic design work, Information Technology sales and implementation through to software development and solutions for the advertising and creative business sectors.

In the 1990's Phil worked in Advertising and Marketing, spending two years as Office & IT Manager for Europe’s largest sports sponsorship agency, The Sponsorship Group, where he was responsible for all administration and commercial management. This led to a senior management role with a software development company project managing installations of their Agency Management Job Costing and Accounting Systems throughout the UK, Ireland and the Channel Isles.

In July 2000 Phil went solo to concentrate on a select group of Advertising Agency clients and the development of a bespoke software application for managing their project budgets.

From 2002 Phil produced their first website, based on an early version of CMS technology, for the privately owned Estate of the Marquess of Zetland in Richmond, North Yorkshire. This also led to an expansion of business activities by providing Sales & Marketing services to the Estate for the prestige commercial office development in the refurbished Aske Stables.

Since 2002 Phil has continued to manage the commercial interests for the Estate, creating the third generation of their website and developing the technology infrastructure for delivering Broadband services throughout the Estate across CAT5, Fibre and WiFi transport methods.

Growth in CMS website solutions, and other creative services, continued and Phil formed collaborative relationships with local business partners so as to strengthen the talent pool for the variety of web-work that was being undertaken.

In 2009 Allan Guy joined Phil to form Purple Creative Services to focus on the web and creative work.

The combined force of Purple Creative Services, in conjunction with our collaborative working approach, has resulted in an impressive portfolio of website projects for all manner of sectors across the UK ranging from Community Projects, Architects, Property Developers, Charities, Food Producers and on-line shopping to Photographers, Innovators & Marketers and general services.

The ‘private’ Phil is a keen musician and plays drums for a local Blues & Rock n Roll band. He also enjoys motor biking seeking any opportunity for a road trip on his Triumph Rocket. Films and extensive reading helps complete the escape that he needs now and then from the day job…
